It started with a jam session.
One of those rare nights where everything just clicks. Songs came together almost effortlessly, instruments kept changing hands, and nobody cared who was playing guitar or sitting behind the drums. The only thing that mattered was the chemistry.
That spark turned into a band.
Over the next three years, the project evolved constantly—three different names, a lineup that eventually grew to eight members, and a sound that refused to settle into a single genre. It was exciting, unpredictable… and, from a branding perspective, beautifully complicated.
How do you build an identity for something that’s still discovering itself?
Working alongside Kyle Wright, who led the band’s creative direction, and Octavio Mendes, who designed the logo, my role was to create a visual system that could grow with the band. From merchandise to a website, everything was designed to feel authentic rather than over-produced—a digital home that captured the same energy as those first rehearsals.
Because some bands are built around a strategy.
Others are built around a feeling.
Rock Paper Texas was always the latter.
